It is finally all catching up to you…

You’re at that point in life where you can’t just skate by anymore.

People – your partner, boss, kids, friends – are starting to need and ask more from you, a depth that you can’t seem to access.

Don’t get me wrong! You have depth – it’s there, but you’re not used to going there, and you’re afraid of what you will find.

Worried that it will be too much, that people in your life will feel disappointed, that you aren’t who you have been telling yourself all these years that you are.

Some people love therapy…

But for the rest of us, it’s not always so much fun. Dealing with feelings and all that stuff? ¡No bueno!

Don’t get me wrong, I take my job seriously and appreciate the seriousness that brings most people to therapy; but not every session will be filled with tears and pain and fear.

But we have to find a way through and that will never happen if the process is dreadful.

Therapy with me is accessible and approachable.

I trust the process and believe that our work will take us where we need to go, so you can get the healing you deserve.

We’ll start with what’s causing the most distress and go from there. We’ll tackle this head on – to understand it, figure out what you are avoiding, and uncover what is driving your behavior.

Armed with that insight, we will start challenging your old thinking and start experimenting with new, more helpful thinking. **This is important, so pay attention. This is not about telling yourself to be positive or some BS like that. This is about actually really doing new things, so you have hard evidence of what works and what doesn’t.

From there, we will go where we need in order to truly create a new normal where you have internalized these changes.

I trust the process. I never know where therapy is going to go, but I find that it takes us where we need to be.

We will celebrate your wins, as much as we focus on the problems.

I will push you and challenge you, but you will find an ally in me – someone who gets you and is on your side.

During our sessions…

Here is what you’ll find:

Laughter, crying (sometimes, but not necessary!), and connecting – the two of us creating a real, working, therapeutic relationship.

Real talk about actual things… the scary part of life and being a human (it is freaking hard!).

Addressing your thinking (usually problematic), your reactions (also usually problematic), and working toward realistic solutions.

Experimenting with new behaviors… being creative and inventive in how we approach this stuff.

My calling you out when you are full of shit (smiles!), but also my knowing that you won’t always be honest with me. And that’s okay, because at the end of the day, you get to choose what you share and what we work on.

Here is what you WON’T find:

You lying on the couch and talking endlessly about your childhood.

Me talking in that therapist voice, softly asking, “And how did that make you feel?”

Me being stoic and neutral (whatever that is), and you always wondering what I am thinking.

Let me be there for you.

I believe that therapy is something that you should be able to come in and out of as you need it.

I want to be that resource for you – someone you can count on to help get you through those tough moments, and who can also help you celebrate your success, growth, and transformation.
